Reading Response on The Witch in the Lake

This book is amazing. The whole concept of the book is so good that the first two pages just pulled me in. Leo and Merilee are two children who are forbidden to see each other. In the book it says that the witch is so scary that if a grown man sees her he will get so scared that his speech will get smacked straight out of him. Leo loves danger he isn't really scared of anything he has no brothers or sisters and hi mother died of the flu. Merilee doesn't like getting in trouble or going the lake but she still likes to protect Leo when he gets into a bit of a pickle. Merilee's sister died of the black death but Merilee's family thinks it's the witch's power. Later on in the book I think that someone close to the children will die or they will find the witch and defeat her.
